As part of a project being implemented in Azerbaijan with financial support from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, there are plans to open a small facility for processing milk and dairy products, Head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

She said that the project is aimed at supporting women’s entrepreneurship in Azerbaijani districts.

“We plan to open a small facility in Tovuz district,” she noted. “Thirty-six women have been selected who will work at this facility. Its opening is planned closer to the end of this year. The work on creating a new facility as part of the project worth 120,000 manats was launched in May this year. The project envisages providing support to women entrepreneurs in the form of trainings on doing business, as well as assistance in the preparation of a business plan and business management.”

The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was established with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan in October 2017.

Over 143,000 women are engaged in business activity in Azerbaijan, according to the statistics.
