Greek MFA: Greece interested in expanding trade with Turkmenistan

Greece is interested in strengthening bilateral economic relations in new fields of trade with Turkmenistan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hellenic Republic told Trend.

In particular, these are processing of mineral oils, energy and renewable energy, transfer of know-how, agricultural equipment such as conservation of fresh products, construction of green-houses and irrigation techniques, dairy products, fisheries, medical services, personal care consumer products, furniture and footwear.

In addition, Greek ministry revealed trade turnover volume with Turkmenistan for last year, which amounted to 51.8 million euros.

"More specifically, Greek exports to Turkmenistan reached 11.7 million euros in 2019,” highlighted the ministry.

Out of this amount, 8.2 million euros accounted for mineral oils and 3.2 million euros - for building stones, said the ministry.

“Main Greek products exported in 2019 to Turkmenistan were mineral oils, building stones and pharmaceuticals,” the source added.

Furthermore, the ministry noted that Greek imports from Turkmenistan reached 40.03 million euros of which 40.02 million euros concerned mineral oils and 16 thousand euros concerned cotton textiles.

Companies in Greece having advanced know-how in the fields of infrastructure construction, energy and mineral oils processing projects, are open to forming potential partnerships with Turkmen companies, added the Greek ministry.
