Review of Georgian imports from Japan

Georgia reveals TOP 10 products bought in Japan from January through September this year, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

1. Cars - $105.4 million, 6,237 units, decrease - 35.6 percent;
2. New rubber pneumatic springs and tires - $7 million, 42,781 pieces; decrease - 43.3 percent;
3. Recycled or worn rubber pneumatic springs and tires - $1.8 million, 204,656 pieces, decrease - 14.3 percent;
4. Parts of vehicles - $1.4 million, 893.3 tons; increase - 6.5 percent;
5. Trucks - $1.1 million, 602 units; increase - 38.6 percent;
6. Sulfur compounds - $641,200, 300 tons,
7. Tractors and saddle accessories - $496,300, 125 pieces, decrease - 17.6 percent;
8. Motorcycles and bicycles, with or without a wheelchair; Wheelchairs - $430,700, 1,351 pieces, increase - 80 percent;
9. Cargo trucks - $351,100, 270.1 tons, increase - 231.5 percent;
10. Optical elements - $237,700, 0.3 tons, decrease - 73.4 percent;

Other goods - $2.2 million.

Trade turnover between Georgia and Japan is 33.7 percent down from January through September this year, amounting to $133.1 million (9 months of 2019 - $200.9 million).

According to Geostat, despite the decline in trade turnover, exports increased by 32.2 percent to $11.8 million (9 months of 2019 - $8.9 million ), while imports decreased by 36.8 percent to $121.1 million (9 months of 2019 - $192 million).
