Turkmenistan and Japan have prospects for intensifying mutually beneficial relations, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This was stated during a meeting between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan Hiroyuki Yamamoto.

Regular contacts and exchanges of delegations at various levels, meetings of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen committees on economic cooperation, joint business forums, as well as interaction within the framework of Central Asia + Japan.

The parties noted the progressive, strategic nature of the interstate partnership, which is also developing in a multilateral format.

An example of a bilateral partnership is the work of well-known Japanese companies in Turkmenistan. So, as an example of joint activities was given the construction of large industrial complexes in Turkmenistan.

Currently, with the participation of Japanese partners, a new gas turbine power plant is being built in the Chardzhev district of the Lebap region.

Along with the trade and economic sphere, the current areas of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation include the energy sector, oil and gas chemistry, transport and logistics, and a number of other industries that also have great prospects.
