A total of 208,000 tons of goods worth about $251 million were exported through the customs checkpoint of the Semnan Province (northern Iran) during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020, through January 20, 2021), said Ali Sadaddin, Director General of the Semnan Province Customs Office, Trend reports citing Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The director-general stressed that 81 types of goods were exported by 85 companies to 48 countries, including Iraq, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Russia, and India.
“The exported goods were mainly light hydrocarbon products, washing powder, water conditioners, sweets, chocolate, iron, and steel products,” he added.
Sadaddin noted that in addition, 13,000 tons of goods worth about $55 million were imported through the customs of Iran's Semnan Province within 10 months. The imported goods were mainly various sensors, equipment, spare parts and etc.
According to him, these goods were imported from 17 countries, including Turkey, China, Uzbekistan, Germany, Italy, Austria, Belgium, and Malaysia.
The director-general said that Semnan Province's customs revenues amounted to 280 billion rials (about $6.67 million) over the reporting period.
