An agreement was signed on the export of textile from Uzbekistan to Iran, Trend reports with reference to the Dunyo news agency.

The signing took place during the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Tehran.

The delivery will be implemented in the amount of $5 million.

The visit was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Iran in accordance with the agreements reached during the visit to the Kashkadarya region in January 2021 by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic and consular missions of Uzbekistan abroad.

As earlier Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said during the meeting with Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in Tashkent, Iran is interested in strengthening economic, political and cultural relations with Uzbekistan.

Speaking at the meeting, the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov also said that Iran and Uzbekistan have cooperation in various areas, including in international circles, between the friendship groups of the parliaments of the two countries.

According to Kamilov, cooperation between the two countries in the area of transport and transit is developing. The potential of Iran's ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman should be used more.
