Iran shares data on imports

Iran's imports amounted to 3.58 million tons worth $4.91 billion for the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2021), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

Latifi stressed that this is an increase of 27 percent in value and 19 percent in volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.

“So, Iran imported 878,000 tons of goods worth $1.42 billion from the UAE, 286,000 tons worth $1.19 billion from China, 212,000 tons worth $454 million from Turkey, as well as, 240,000 tons worth $157 million from Switzerland and 44,000 tons worth $156 million from Germany in 9th month,” he said.

The customs official also pointed out that the transit of goods through Iran for the reporting month amounted to 1.05 million tons, which is an increase of 53 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.

Iran's foreign trade turnover for the 9th month of the current Iranian year amounted to about 13.2 million tons worth $8.95 billion, which is an increase of 25 percent in value and 3 percent in volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.

Within the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), Iran imported 30.1 million tons of goods worth $37 billion. Imports increased by 37 percent in value and 20 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, the transit of goods through Iran for 9 months amounted to 9.16 million tons, which is an increase of 76 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
