BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 8. Iran's non-oil trade turnover with African countries increased by 39 percent in value and 10.5 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Chairman of the Iranian-African Businessmen's Club Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports referring to the club.

According to Latifi, the trade turnover between Iran and African countries for 8 months amounted to 1.91 million tons worth about $1.06 billion.

The official added that Iran exported 1.84 million tons of non-oil products worth more than $990 million to the African countries over 8 months, which is an increase of 36 percent in value and 9 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“In 8 months, Iran mainly exported goods worth $280 million to the Republic of South Africa, worth $161 million to Mozambique, worth $138 million to Sudan, worth $130 million to Ghana, worth $115 million to Nigeria, worth $40.2 million to Ivory Coast and worth $38.3 million to Kenya,” he said.

Furthermore, Iran imported 69,000 tons of goods worth $66 million from the African countries within 8 months, which is an increase of 98 percent in value and 77 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year, Latifi noted.

The deputy chairman also pointed out that Iran mainly imported goods worth $19 million from Tanzania, worth $12.6 million from Kenya, worth $7.1 million from the Republic of South Africa, worth $6.6 million from Ghana, worth $5.3 million from the Seychelles, worth $4.7 million from the Congo, worth $3.5 million from Egypt in eight months.
