NATO to Provide Aid to South Caucasus and  Central Asia Countries to Protect Energy Plants – NATO Special Representative

Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 March / Trend corr. K.Ramazanova / NATO is prepared to provide aid to the South Caucasus and Central Asia countries to protect energy plants, Robert Simons, NATO special representative in South Caucasus, stated to journalists on his visit to Baku on 7 March.

"This is a relevant issue for countries of South Caucasus and Middle Asia," Simons said.

NATO may provide assistance in these issues, but each country is responsible for its security.

There are large energy plants in Azerbaijan, including oil and gas terminals in Sangachal, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Novorossiysk and Baku-Supsa and South-Caucasus gas pipeline.
