Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 March / Trend / Greece intends to purchase 1bln cu.m of Azerbaijan's gas, the Greek Development Minister Christos Folias said at the meeting with the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev. Greece also is ready to become a transit country for transportation of Azerbaijan's gas to the European market, he said.
The Greek oil and gas company DEPA is ready to launch negotiations on the transportation of Azerbaijan's gas to Greece, the managing director of DEPA Asimakis Papageorgiou said at the meeting.
The SOCAR President said that currently the gas from Azerbaijan's gas and condensate Shah Deniz field is already being transported to Turkey and Greece and transportation of Azerbaijan's gas to Europe requires the resolve transit issues.
