Aliyev said the protocol also reflects the issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Greece in the field of tourism, culture and agriculture.
"The high level of relations between two countries determines the development of economic cooperation and the signed document will lay the foundation for future relations," Kouvelis said.
In particular, he noted the importance of the implementation of the Southern Corridor projects for Greece.
Kouvelis said Greece pays particular attention to the ITGI project (pipeline Turkey-Greece-Italy), continuation of which could be Bulgaria and Romania. To enhance the development of this direction will be required a close cooperation between Azerbaijan, Greece, Italy and Turkey, Kouvelis said.
The Southern Corridor, designed to diversify gas deliveries to Europe, includes the Nabucco gas pipeline, Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), White Stream, and ITGI (Italy-Turkey-Greece Interconnector). The idea of combining several pipeline projects, such as the merger of gas pipelines Nabucco and ITGI, has been raised for several times.
