In October, Sarmatia will submit a report on the environmental and social impact assessment of the Brody-Plock pipeline to the Polish Regional Directorate on Environment, General Director Sergei Skripka told Trend today.

He said that the working version of the report has been prepared. A final version will be ready in October this year.

"We are still at the stage of making changes in local land use and development plans," he said. "This is a long procedure that must be completed in September. In parallel, we are preparing the materials to prepare a report on the impact on the environment. A working version of this report is ready. But the procedure for obtaining an environmental permit will begin in October."

He added that the report will be submitted to the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Lublin and Bialystok.

He previously mentioned that ecological and environmental permits will be obtained by late 2012 to apply to the European Commission for getting a final decision on the financial support of the project in early 2013.

A study on the future of the pipeline route selection of Brody-Plotsk pipeline has been completed. The length of the route will be 377 kilometers, 120 kilometers of which will be constructed on the territory of Ukraine, 257 kilometers in Poland.

Sarmatia was created by Ukrtransnafta and the Polish PERN Przyjazn company on July 12, 2004 to attract investments to design and complete the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline to Plotsk.

The Odessa-Brody oil transportation project sought to diversify oil supplies to Ukrainian refineries and develop the country's transit potential.
