The SOCAR Geophysics and Geology Department will complete the preliminary processing and interpretation of 3D seismic research data held in the territory envisaged for building a new oil and gas complex September-October, a source in SOCAR told Trend on Monday.
As the source said, the process of more detailed processing and interpretation of data is planned to be completed by late 2012.
"This is very important project and the territory allocated for the complex is large. At the same time, preliminary data of processing and interpretation will be presented already in September-October.
Thorough work, which is supposed to be completed by late year, will be
conducted after that," the source said.
The new complex envisages the construction of a petrochemical company, an oil refinery with a capacity of ten million tons per year, as well as a gas processing plant with capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year. Depth of processing at the plant will be about 95 percent, while the yield of light oil products - 85 percent. In the long term capacity of the gas processing plant is planned to increase to 15 billion cubic meters a year. As part of the new complex it is planned to create heat and energy center with capacity of 250 megawatts.
The complex will be located on 1,500 hectares 60 kilometers from Baku. The entire complex is scheduled to be launched by late 2020.
