The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has started drilling of a new well in the shallow part of the Guneshli offshore field, SOCAR said on Friday.
According to the report, the design depth of the well is 3,500 meters. The well is drilled from the Guneshli-10 platform.
According to estimates of geologists, the expected daily flow rate of the well will hit 20 tons of oil and 200,000 cubic meters of gas.
SOCAR includes production association Azneft (companies producing oil and gas on land and sea), Production Association Azerkimya (chemical industry), production association Azerigas (gas distribution).
