The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) took part in the European Gas Conference in Vienna, SOCAR said today.
A SOCAR delegation was headed by SOCAR Deputy Vice President on Investment and Marketing Vitaliy Baylarbayov, who delivered a report on "The Southern Corridor Project" at the conference.
During the event, director of the SOCAR representative office in Austria Gulmirza Javadov held several bilateral meetings.
SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (companies that produce oil and gas on land and sea) and the Azerkimya Production Association (chemical industry), production association Azerigas (gas distribution).
The State Oil Company is the only producer of oil products in the country (it has two refineries on its balance sheet) and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Romania. SOCAR possesses a network of petrol stations in Switzerland and is the co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim.
