Russian minister: Permanent relationship with Iran would strengthen energy co-op

Iranian oil minister Bijan Zanganeh on Thursday met Alexander Novak during a one-day visit to Moscow in order to pursue oil agreements and develop energy cooperation between the two countries, according to ILNA news.

The meeting was also attended by Iran's ambassador to Russia, Mehdi Sanai.

The ministers talked about bilateral energy cooperation, the global oil market and other areas of cooperation. The parties also condemned unilateral measures by the United States and economic sanctions against other countries, ILNA reported on Thursday.

Zanganeh spoke on good cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and expressed hope for strengthening of these cooperation.

“The permanent relationship between Russia and Iran would strengthen the cooperation of the two countries in all areas of trade-economic relations, including energy,” Iranian media quoted Energy Minister Alexander Novak as saying in Moscow.
