Turkey’s MCB Madencilik to be engaged in oil and gas exploration in several provinces

Turkey’s MCB Madencilik energy company will be engaged in oil and gas exploration in a number of Turkish provinces, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey told Trend.

Oil and gas exploration will be conducted in the provinces of Adiyaman, Canakkale, Diyarbakir, Elazig, Izmir, Malatya, Manisa, Sanliurfa and Tekirdag.

It was noted that reconnaissance work will be carried out on a total area of ​​432.8 hectares. "MCB Madencilik appealed to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in this regard in March 2018," the department said.

A law permitting oil exploration in forests and national parks was passed in Turkey in April 2014.

According to the ministry’s report, a total of 56 wells have been drilled as part of the exploration of new oil and gas fields in Turkey since 2014, 54 of which are onshore and two are offshore.
