Implementation of the third stage of development of the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is one of the issues that depend on negotiations, BP Vice President for Communications, External Affairs and Strategy in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli told Trend.
Aslanbayli noted that in these matters, everything depends on the economic efficiency of investments and recoverable resources.
The previous, second stage of the development of Shah Deniz, is the starting point of the Southern Gas Corridor, through which the Caspian Sea gas will be supplied for the first time to the European market.
As part of the second stage of the field development, 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be additionally produced, six billion of this volume will be supplied to Turkey while 10 billion - to Europe.
During the peak period, gas production from the Shah Deniz field will reach 26 billion cubic meters of gas per year and 120,000 barrels per day.
