Kazakhstan approves petroleum products list prohibited for export outside EAEU

By a decree of Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy, a list of petroleum goods prohibited or restricted for export from Kazakhstan to outside of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was approved, Trend reports with reference to the published decree.

According to the decree, the list of the petroleum products includes light distillates, jet fuel and diesel fuel, gasoil, toluene and xylene.

The list was approved in accordance with the Agreement between governments of Kazakhstan and Russia on trade and economic relations in area of oil and petroleum products export.

On Oct. 23, 2019 Kazakhstan has introduced the order "On some issues of the export of petroleum products from Kazakhstan", which prohibits smuggling of petroleum products from the country.

According to the document, the export ban is introduced for six months and prohibits smuggling of Kazakh petroleum products via cars, with the exception of smuggling via cars’ gas tanks installed by the manufacturer in accordance with the technical specifications, as well as in separate containers the volume of which does not exceed 20 liters.

Earlier in 2019, Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbayev said that Kazakh Ministry of Energy, State Revenue Committee and National Security Committee are to take measures to abolish Kazakh petrol smuggling to Russia.
