Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters to upgrade Iran's largest oil field

Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters will upgrade the Ahvaz field, Iran's largest oil field, as well as the Rashadat field, the Head of Headquarter, Saeed Mohammad said, Trend reports citing the headquarters’ website.

According to Mohammad, a contract was signed between Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarter and the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) recently in this regard. Under the contract, the headquarters will upgrade the field relying on domestic production.

The official added that 41 new wells will be drilled in this field and the extraction from the field will increase by more than 33,000 barrels daily.

“In addition, the Rashadat field in Iran will also be upgraded under a contract signed between the Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters and the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC). In general, 20 new wells will be drilled in this field,” he said.

Mohammad noted that the extraction from the Rashadat field will increase by more than 19,000 barrels per day.

The Ahvaz oil field is located in the Ahvaz county of Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). The field contains more than 65 billion barrels of oil, of which 37 billion barrels can be extracted. On January 11, the NISOC and the Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarter of Iran have signed a contract to increase oil extraction from the 2nd, 3rd and 5th reservoirs of the Ahvaz field in Khuzestan Province. About $281 million will be spent under the contract and the extraction will increase by 33,200 barrels per day, the report said.

Furthermore, Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) and the Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarter have signed a contract on the Rashadat field in Hormozgan Province. Under the contract, 319 million euro will be spent and the extraction will increase by 19,400 barrels per day.
