TEHRAN, Iran, April. 7. Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Mohammad Eslami announced that the government seeks to build a 360-megawatt nuclear power plant in Darkhovin, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Building of the mentioned plan is a part of the nuclear program of Iran, planned for construction about 70 kilometers south of Ahvaz, Iran at the Karun river.
Pointing to Iran`s comprehensive strategic document for the development of atomic energy, Eslami said that according to the strategic document, Iran plans to add about 10,000 megawatts of nuclear power generation by the end of the current Iranian year (ends on March 21, 2023).
“The organization is obliged to add the mentioned amount of electricity to the national grid, through domestic and external financing,” he said, referring to the budget bill of the current Iranian year.
