Iran envisages increase in petrochemical production

TEHRAN, Iran, May 16. Iran's petrochemical production will double in the next decade, said the Deputy Oil Minister Morteza Shahmirzaei, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Iran 's current petrochemical production capacity is 90 million tons and will increase to 200 million tons by the end of the eight development plan (2026-2031)," he said in the 26th edition of Iran International Oil, Gas, and Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition.

According to the official, the country will launch six petrochemical projects in the current Iranian year to increase production by five million tons.
