BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. Iran started laying new power lines in order to supply electricity to the Shaqez mine in Lorestan Province (western Iran) on August 18, 2022, Trend reports citing the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

In total, 16 km long power lines will be built at the expense of IMIDRO's funds worth 140 billion rials (about $3.3 million), and as a result, 40 people will be provided with jobs.

The Chairman of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Vajihollah Jafari attended the event dedicated to the laying of new power lines.

Iran's Shaqez mine contains 128 million tons of calcium carbonate reserves. About 140,000 tons of calcium carbonate are extracted from this mine per year. At present, 120 people work in the mine.
