BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 24. Greece paid a total of 1 962 325 800 euros for purchase of Azerbaijani gas as of 2022, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
Eurostat data shows that Greece imported 1 710 615 989 cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan last year.
Total spending of EU countries on Azerbaijani gas imports in 2022 amounted to 15 598 852 881 euros and the volume of supplies stood at 11 941 237 690 cubic meters.
Azerbaijan’s gas production stood at 46.7 billion cubic meters in 2022, showing a 6.5 percent increase year-on-year.
A total of 13.4 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli field and 25.2 billion cubic meters from the Shah Deniz field. At the same time, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR produced 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas.
A total of 22.3 billion cubic meters of the total volume of Azerbaijani gas produced in 2022, were exported, which is 18 percent more than in 2021.
Azerbaijan exports gas to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, the final leg of the Southern Gas Corridor. The initial capacity of TAP is 10 billion cubic meters expandable to 20 billion cubic meters per year.
