BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The value of total sales at the Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) decreased by 26.8 percent, during the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the 1st month (March 21 through April 20, 2023), Trend reports.
The value of total sales at the Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) amounted to 59.2 trillion rials (about $139 million) in the 2nd month.
Meanwhile, the figures stood at 81 trillion rials (about $175 million) in the first month.
More than 281,000 tons of hydrocarbon products worth 53.9 trillion rials (about $127 million) were sold at the Iran Energy Exchange within the 2nd month.
Of this, approximately 32.8 trillion rials (about $77.2 million) worth of hydrocarbon products were sold on the domestic floor, while 21.1 trillion rials (about $49.7 million) worth - on the international floor of the IRENEX.
The main products sold at the country’s energy exchange for the reporting month were iso recycle, naphtha, gas condensate, methanol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and etc.
Moreover, 459 million kilowatt-hours of electricity worth 472 billion rials (about $1.11 million) were sold at the IRENEX in the 2nd month.
At the same time, Standard Parallel Salaf (Islamic contract, similar to futures) documents worth approximately 877 billion rials (about $2.06 million) were also sold at the energy exchange for the 2nd month.
Along with all these, 27,000 certificates of deposit for heavy crude oil and gas condensate worth 665 billion rials (about $1.56 million) were sold at the Iran Energy Exchange during the second month.
Meanwhile, the value of total sales at the Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) amounted to approximately 1.42 quadrillion rials (about $3.53 billion) over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
About 7.29 million tons of hydrocarbon products worth 1.26 quadrillion rials (about $3.13 billion) were sold at the Iran Energy Exchange within the last Iranian year, which accounted for 89 percent of total sales at the IRENEX.
The products at Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) are sold under the SANA exchange rate.
The SANA system is a system introduced by the Central Bank of Iran to the currency exchange offices, where the price of 1 euro is 455,379 rials, and the price of $1 is 425,067 rials.
