Iran’s export of oil products via east ports of Hormozgan Province up nearly 70%

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. Iran’s exports of oil products through the east ports of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) have increased by 67 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023) to date, compared to the same period in the last year, Director of Shahid Bahonar Ports and Maritime Department, Hamid Reza Mohammad Hosseini said, Trend reports.

According to him, a total of 31,400 tons of oil products were exported to the countries located around the Persian Gulf through the east ports of the province for the reporting period.

Mohammad Hosseini also added that more than 28,000 tons of construction materials were shipped via the mentioned ports for cabotage within the mentioned period. This is 23 percent more than in the same period last year.

“Overall, 55 ships with a capacity of 1,000 tons and 1,771 ships with a capacity of less than 1,000 tons docked at the east ports of the province during the mentioned period,” the director said.

In general, there are 9 ports operating in the east of Iran's Hormozgan Province. Among these ports, Shahid Bahonar, Tiyab, Jask are considered active ports.
