BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. In April 2023, Azerbaijan witnessed a 21.73 percent growth in natural gas exports to Türkiye compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 893.36 million cubic meters from 733.92 million cubic meters, Trend reports.
Consequently, Azerbaijan secured the second position in terms of natural gas exports to Turkey during the reporting period.
Russia emerged as the largest exporter of natural gas to Türkiye in April this year, with a volume of 1.722 billion cubic meters, representing a decrease of 8.49% compared to the deliveries during the same period in 2022, the data released by Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) shows.
Iran claimed the third position with a volume of 866.89 million cubic meters, marking a 3.52 percent increase compared to April 2022.
During the specified period, Türkiye experienced an overall decrease of 2.10 percent in gas imports compared to April 2022, with imports dropping from 4.067 billion cubic meters to 3.982 billion cubic meters. Of the total, pipeline supplies accounted for 3.284 billion cubic meters, while 698.19 million cubic meters were delivered as LNG.
Türkiye witnessed a 4.91 percent decrease in pipeline gas imports and a 13.74 percent increase in LNG imports compared to April 2022.
