BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. STAR refinery under SOCAR Türkiye witnessed an 11.1 percent year-on-year decline in petroleum coke production in July 2023, Trend reports.
During July this year, the refinery produced 61,279 tons of petcoke, as opposed to the 68,948 tons produced in the same period in 2022, according to estimates by Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
SOCAR Türkiye has plans to process over 12 million tons of oil at the STAR refinery in 2023. In the production of petrochemical products, the refinery utilizes crude oil sourced from countries in the Black Sea region, Africa, and various other nations.
The STAR refinery, which commenced operations in October 2018, possesses the capability to process 214 thousand barrels of crude oil per day.
