Shah Deniz boosts gas production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. Shah Deniz giant gas and condensate field in Azerbaijan has produced 21,8 billion cubic meters of gas from January through October 2023, as compared to 20.7 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the country’s energy ministry.

As such, Shah Deniz field’s production rose by 5.3 percent year-on-year.

Azerbaijan's overall gas production for the same period reached 40.1 billion cubic meters, with the State Oil Company SOCAR contributing 7.1 billion cubic meters to the total.

This signifies a notable 4.2 percent increase in the country's gas output compared to the previous year, amounting to a growth of 1.6 billion cubic meters.

The existing Shah Deniz facilities’ production capacity is currently about 72.1 million standard cubic metres of gas per day or approximately 26.3 billion standard cubic metres per year.

Shah Deniz participating interests are: bp (operator – 29.99%), SGC (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%) and NICO (10.00%).
