ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 2. Turkmenistan's Turkmennebit State Concern increased oil production at the Gumdag field by 15.5 percent for the whole of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
According to official data, this field is among the oldest in Turkmenistan, having successfully contributed a substantial volume of oil to the country for many decades.
Furthermore, the 'Gumdagnebit' department of the Turkmennebit State Concern produced 580,800 tons of oil at this field over the past year, exceeding the plan by 12.6 percent.
The field's wells are currently being modernized at the system level with the introduction of modern equipment and machinery into production.
Turkmenistan is actively engaged in diversifying its energy sector, with a specific focus on advancing its oil-related industries.
Given the nation's extensive oil reserves, this undertaking holds great significance, encompassing ambitious strategies for the extraction, transportation, and export of this crucial energy commodity.
