BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 6. President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf and Personal Representative of the President of the Republic of the Congo for Strategic Issues and International Negotiations Francoise Joly have discussed the opportunities of trade in oil and oil products of the African state, Trend reports, referring to SOCAR.

During the March 5 meeting in Baku, the sides reviewed Azerbaijan's initiatives in the energy sector worldwide, as well as SOCAR's engagement and cooperation with various ventures and organizations.

The parties also highlighted prospective collaboration opportunities in the oil and gas sector, including topics such as oil and oil product commerce.

Furthermore, the participants discussed thoughts on human capital development and other areas of mutual interest.

SOCAR operates in diverse sectors, encompassing oil and gas field exploration, oil, gas, and gas condensate extraction, processing, and transportation, alongside the distribution of oil and petrochemical products in both domestic and international markets. Furthermore, the company plays a crucial role in supplying natural gas to both industrial enterprises and the general population of Azerbaijan, as well as extending its services to Europe.

Beyond Azerbaijan, SOCAR is actively involved in numerous international ventures, spanning countries such as Türkiye, Georgia, Romania, Switzerland, Germany, and Ukraine. Additionally, the company engages in significant trading operations primarily based in Switzerland, Singapore, and Nigeria.
