Azerbaijan to Produce Notebooks

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 26 September / Trend corr. V.Mammadov, S.Babayeva / KUR Computers, producer of computer technology and equipment in Azerbaijan, is prepared to mass production of notebooks of different configurations and with touchpad monitor, Ilkin Suleymanov, the chief of the scientific and technical centre of the company, said.

"Production will begin within a month," Suleymanov said.

Monitors of notebook will in be of 12.4, 14.2 and 15.2 inch, he said. Price will range from AZN 550 to AZN 1,800.

According to Suleymanov, components have been imported from Germany, Thailand, Korea and Indonesia to begin a manufacture of a new product.

KUR plant functions as a joint venture. A total of 51% of stakes belong to the state - the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, 36% - to local SINAM co and 13% - to individuals.

Production capacity of the enterprise enables to produce 140 computers a day.

In 2007 KUR produced about 12,000 computers, as much telephone devices and 40 information booths.
