Sale under People's Computer up by 35.4 percent

A total of 13,547 PCs have been sold under the People's Computer project, Best Comp Group told Trend.

Thus, 2,351 PCs were sold in Baku and the rest in regions.

Rise in sale hit 35.4 percent (3,547 PCs) over the first half of 2011.

The overall cost of PCs made up 2 million manat with average price of 650 manat per one.

Overall 7 million manat has been invested in the project since its commissioning April of 2009.

Over 13,395 computers were purchased by teachers, 70 by pupils and 77 students. Five computers were obtained by health employees.

Over 80 percent of computers sold under the project fell on portable technique.

Computers proposed under the project are provided for teachers in secondary educational institutions and are sold on an interest-free loan for up to 12 months and costs by 25-40 percent below market value.

The project is implemented by HP and Microsoft. Bestcomp Group is a supplier company.
