The Azerbaijani mobile operator subscriber base increased by more than 1 million people in 2011 to over 10.1 million subscribers, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry said in its report for 2011 on Saturday.
According to the report, in terms of mobile penetration, Azerbaijan outstrips the world average by 35 percent. The world average mobile penetration currently hits 78 percent.
According to statistics, 110 mobile phones account for every 100 people in Azerbaijan.
