Representatives of the Azerbaijan Telecommunication and IT Ministry held a meeting with James Flucker, the Councilor U. S. Ambassador to Turkey for Commercial Issues, Alan Air, an employee on energy and commercial issues of the American Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and Sanan Nasibli, the Assistant to the American Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Trend reports referring to the Press-Service of the Azerbaijan Telecommunication Ministry.
During the meting with the participation of the top officials of the Telecommunication Ministry of the Country, issues on cooperation in IT Sphere were discussed. Giving a speech, Ayaz Bayramov, the Head of the Department for International Relations and Affairs with NGOs of the Azerbaijan Telecommunication Ministry, informed about work carried out jointly with the American party in the sphere of ICT. Rashad Nabiyev, the Chief of the Finance Accounting and Economic Analysis of the Ministry, provided the foreign partners with the information on achievements and successful measures taken in the telecommunication sphere for recent years.
Bahtiyar Mammadov, the Chief of the Law and Human Resources Department of the Ministry, told about the legal bases of cooperation in ICT sphere between Azerbaijan and USA, and stressed that the memorandum on mutual understanding signed between the U. S. State Department and the Azerbaijan Telecommunication and IT Ministry was the basis to reinforcing the bilateral relations in the telecommunication sphere, and said that it had been just Booz Allen Hamilton of USA which become the winner of the competition on the selection of a consultant within the project on the foundation of a regional innovation zone in Azerbaijan. Then, Diana Landau, the Advisor Azerbaijan Telecommunication and IT Minister, told about the above-mentioned project, as well as about measures taken within its implementation.
