Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani State Statistic Committee reported that at the beginning of 2007, enterprises, engaged in the Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan have produced AZN 599,1mln production with an increase of 24,9%.
Some 1.7% or 22,000 people are working in Communication and IT.
The investment put into Communication and IT fields in the country, amounted to AZN 211,8mln and increased by 38, 8% as compared to 2005.
In 2006 the Communication and IT production on AZN 278,9mln ($320, 6mln), as well as 18 types of telecommunication equipments, amounted to AZN 152,3mln ($175, 6mln), were brought to Azerbaijan.
The computers and computer equipments, amounted to AZN 40,4mln ($46,5mln), electron equipments AZN 10,2mln ($11,8mln), audit and video productions AZN 7,9mln ($9,1mln) were brought in Azerbaijan.
