Talks were held between Turkey and Tunisia in order to improve relations in the field of civil aviation, Trend reports referring to Turkish media.

During the negotiations held in Tunisia between Director General of Turkish Civil Aviation Bahri Kesici and Director General of Tunisian Civil Aviation Authority Habib al-Makki, cooperation issues were discussed in addition to the ongoing requirements to increase the frequency of air transportation.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed, according to which air communication between Turkey and Tunisia will increase from 14 to 18 times a week, and from 2020-2021 - to 21 times a week.

According to the memorandum, Turkish and Tunisian airline companies will be able to conclude an agreement on the shared use of radio frequencies with a third party (airline).

The memorandum also approves airport visits by experts, aviation security auditors from both countries, alongside the development of technical cooperation with monitoring and information exchange on the ground.
