Azerbaijan’s cargo transportation by railway increased by 5.3 percent from January through December 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, amounting to $3.2 billion, Trend reports via statistical report of Azerbaijan’s State Custom Committee (SCC).
During this period, cargo transportation by railway increased by 13 percent compared to the same period of 2018, amounting to 7.6 million tons.
The volume of exported cargo transported by railway increased by 0.1 percent, and amounted to 2.3 million tons, and in monetary terms dropped by 13.8 percent worth $710 million.
The volume of imported cargo transported by railway increased by 19.7 percent amounting to 5.2 million tons, and in monetary terms increased by 12.4 percent worth $2.5 billion.
During 2019, Azerbaijan’s trade amounted to $33.3 billion. Herein, the export amounted to $19.6 billion, and import to $13.7 billion.
