Wizz Air expresses readiness for renewing flights from Georgia to various directions

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Low-budget air company Wizz Air is fully prepared for renewing flights from Georgia to various directions, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Andras Rado, the Head of Wizz Air Corporative communications noted, that Wizz Air depends on the restrictions imposed by several states.

"At first, Wizz Air will renew the Kutaisi-Riga route. We hope, that we will be able to restore flights in more directions, but we are dependent on the restrictions, which are imposed by the state to combat COVID-19. Wizz Air is ready to renew flights in more directions if imposed restrictions will allow it," he said.

The limitations imposed on scheduled international air flights have been prolonged until 1 November 2020 in Georgia, said Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.

“The restriction on regular international flights has been extended and is in force until October 31, 2020. The restriction does not apply to regular international flights carried out between Tbilisi International Airport (ICAO code UGTB) and the following airports: Munich (ICAO code EDDM); Paris (ICAO code LFPG); Riga (ICAO code EVRA),” the document reads.

The mentioned decision was made due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
