Cargo movements in Iran's Khalij-e-Fars port increase

The volume of crude oil and oil products loaded and unloaded in the Khalij-e-Fars oil port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 9 percent during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Ports and Maritime Department in Hormozgan Province Alireza Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing the department’s website.

The director general noted that about 27.4 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port within 11 months.

Mohammadi added that 5.8 million tons of gasoline were loaded and unloaded in the port over the 11 months.

"During the mentioned period, 1,120 ships docked to the Khalij-e-Fars oil port. About 204 of them were carried gasoline and the rest – other oil products," he said.

The Khalij-e-Fars oil port is located in the Shahid Rajaee special economic zone. The port has 12 platforms and is considered the largest oil port under the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization.
