Kazakhstan sees increase in revenues from air passenger transport

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 6.1 billion tenge ($12.9 million) from January through July 2022, which is 52.2 percent less than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in July 2022 amounted to 1.2 billion tenge ($2.7 million), which is 24.5 percent less than during the same month of 2021.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 12,740 tons, which is 36.1 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 28.4 million ton-kilometers which is 37.4 percent less than during the same period of last year.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 270.5 billion tenge ($568.4 million) from January through July 2022, which is 24.3 percent more than during the same period of last year. July revenue from passenger transportation was 64.3 billion tenge ($135.2 million), which is 37.9 percent more than in July 2021.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 5.7 million people, which is 12.8 percent more than during the same period of last year (1.1 million passengers in July 2022, up by 22.9 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 10.2 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 29 percent. The July passenger turnover was 2.2 billion (39.5 percent more year-on-year).
