BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port of Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), decreased by 2.67 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, 3.79 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 7th month. Of this, 1.67 million tons were loaded and 2.12 million tons were unloaded.
“Also, 1.54 million tons of cargo were exported and about 1.94 million tons were imported through the Imam Khomeini port over the reporting month. At the same time, 34,800 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit,” the statistics said.
Within the 7th month, 84,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 173,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.
According to the statistics, 12,300 tons of cargo were loaded and 8,430 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment. Furthermore, 73 tons of cargo were loaded and 3,790 tons were unloaded for other purposes.
So, about 1.59 million tons of essential products, about 118,000 tons of metal products, 441,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 344 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, and 335,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 84,600 tons of leather, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 120 tons of small and assorted goods, 94,000 tons of container products, and 1.13 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, about 11.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 7th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.66 million tons were loaded and 5.94 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
