BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Charak port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 16.4 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
In total, about 1.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port for the last Iranian year. So, 1.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and 292,000 tons were unloaded.
Some 230,000 tons of cargo were exported through the Charak port during the reporting period.
At the same time, over 977,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 292,000 tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage.
A total of 159,000 tons of essential products, 519 tons of metal products, about 939,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 32,200 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 1,910 tons of chemicals, 353,000 tons of small and assorted goods, 110 tons of container products, and 13,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Charak port in the last Iranian year.
Overall, approximately 152 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports over the last Iranian year. Of that, about 80 million tons were loaded and 71.7 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
