BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 24. Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of shipping oil for export via alternative routes due to the temporary restriction of the operation of the marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, Trend reports citing the Kazakh Energy Ministry.

According to the ministry, according to the weather forecasters, the wind speed reached 35 meters per second in connection with the storm in the Novorossiysk region, which affected the work of the marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.

“Proceeding from the information of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium dated March 22, 2022, the inspectors revealed that the load-bearing frame of one of the floating hoses of the mooring equipment - 3 was displaced and the hoses of the inner sleeve of the mooring equipment – 2 were damaged,” the message said.

According to the ministry, in this regard, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium decided to temporarily decommission the mooring equipment and repair it.

The Ministry of Energy is holding consultations with the Caspian Pipeline Consortium on the timing of the resumption of the work of the marine terminal and is considering the possibility of shipping oil for export along alternative routes.
