BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) plans to increase the volumes of the transported oil in the current year, Kairgeldy Kabyldin, CPC-K Deputy General Director, said at a press conference, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

"The CPC has received applications for the transportation of 66 million tons of oil in 2023. Last year we planned to transport 62 million tons, however pumped only 58.7 million tons," he said.

According to Kabyldin, it is planned to supply 29 million tons from Tengiz field, 11 million tons from Karachaganak field, and 15 million tons - from Kashagan field.

The current capacity of the pipeline (Kazakhstan part) is 72.5 million tons per year, the maximum capacity (on the territory of Russia) is 83 million tons, when using lubricants that accelerate the speed of oil passage, he added.

In 2022, CPC pumped 58.7 million tons of oil, including 52.2 million tons of raw materials from Kazakhstan. In 2023, the consortium declared its readiness to pump "increased" volumes of fuel. Oil shipments decreased by 3.3 percent last year compared to 2021. The main volumes of oil were delivered to the pipeline system from several Kazakh fields: Tengiz – 29 million tons, Kashagan – 12 million tons, Karachaganak – 10 million tons. Oil was transferred from the CPC marine terminal to 527 tankers.
