6 infants from South Kazakhstan HIV infected

(Kazinform) - Multiphasic health testing has been held in Shymkent town for 3 days under the direction of the Chief Medical Sanitation Officer of Kazakhstan Anatoly Belonog. Specialists of ministerial level arrived in South Kazakhstan in order to clarify the reasons of HIV-infection of small children.

Medical commission examined all medical establishments where 14 infants with dangerous virus in their blood were taking treatments. Age of the children is from 2 months by 3 years. According to preliminary test all 14 turned to be under suspect on presence of virus in their organisms. Finally diagnosis was exactly confirmed for 6 infants. Other children will be examined further, reports Trend.

All donors, whose blood preparation were used for children and parents of these children submitted to a blood test. All of them turned to be health. But taking into account character of the disease that is able to progress in organism of an adult for many years, mothers of the children will be examined in a month again.

All these measures are being held in order to find out way of infection of children with AIDS. Results of the work will be announced to journalists by the members of ministerial commission these days in Astana city.
