Turkmenistan discloses amount of products sold via local commodity exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 1

Some 24 transactions were registered at the Turkmen State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange last week, Trend reports referring to the local media.

Businessmen from the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, Malta purchased jet fuel and liquefied gas produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries for foreign currency.

Businessmen from Afghanistan bought liquefied gas (Turkmengas State Concern), while those from Turkey, Poland, the UAE and Uzbekistan - polyethylene (Turkmenchemistry State Concern). The total amount of the transactions exceeded $25.5 million.

Moreover, businessmen from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan bought handmade carpets for the total amount of over 48,800 Turkmen manat ($13,970).

Polyethylene, cotton fiber and handmade carpets for a total amount of over 160.2 million manat ($45.86 million) were purchased for the domestic market.

The total amount of all transactions on Turkmen State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange last week exceeded $30 million.
