Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the regular meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Heads of State in Dushanbe city Sept. 27-28, Uzbek media reported.

The agenda of the Summit includes a wide range of issues related to the current state and prospects for the further development of multilateral cooperation in various fields.

Also, the heads of state will consider the issues of chairmanship in the CIS in 2019, the venue and date of the next meeting of the CIS Council, exchange views on current regional and international issues.

Following the meeting, it is expected that a weighty package of documents will be adopted, including the Statement of the CIS Heads of State on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of December 10, 1948, the Plan of the main events for the preparation and celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The documents will also include Interstate program of joint measures to combat crime for 2019-2023, Agreement on cooperation in combating crimes in the IT sphere.

The program of the Uzbek president’s visit also includes holding a number of bilateral meetings in Dushanbe.
