BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan amounted to $669.2 million from January through February 2023, increasing by 7.9 percent or $79.1 million, compared to the same period in 2022 ($620.1 million), Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
Trade with Kazakhstan accounted for 7.8 percent of Uzbekistan’s trade turnover in the reporting, while the largest volume of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan was recorded with Russia (16.2 percent).
From January through February 2023, Kazakhstan’s imports from Uzbekistan made up $157.8 million. This figure increased by 11.3 percent, compared to the first two months of 2022 ($141.7 million).
Kazakhstan exported to Uzbekistan goods and services worth $541.4 million, increasing by 13.1 percent, compared to the figure for 2M2022 ($478.5 million).
During the reporting period, Kazakhstan imported from Uzbekistan some 44,800 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $17.4 million, and textile products worth $12.1 million, etc.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan from January through December 2022 amounted to $4.6 billion – 9.9 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan during the reporting period.
