TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 13. Value of Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves amounted to $32.9 billion as of November 1, 2023, Trend reports.
As per data provided by Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, the value increased by almost $2 billion compared to $31 billion recorded in October this year.
Moreover, the physical volume of gold amounted to 12 million troy ounces, which is equivalent to 373.2 tons, while its value fixed at $23.9 billion.
The value of foreign exchange reserves amounted to $8.3 million. The recorded numbers represent the first increase in volumes since April of 2023.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan entered the top five world central banks in terms of gold purchases according to the results of the third quarter of 2023.
As per data provided by the World Gold Council, the volume of gold purchased by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan amounted to 7 tons from July through September of 2023.
Uzbekistan’s Central Bank sold 46 tons of gold in the first 8 months of 2023. During the same period, 25 tons of gold were purchased.
